The opposite of cleansing

I’d like to point out that Bon Appetit’s 2012 Food Lover’s Cleanse is not really a cleanse. Just because you’re not eating junk food does not constitute cleaning your system. I like where they’re going with this, though. It looks really delicious. I’m going to have to hit this after I finish my ungodly and self-masochistic *real cleanse. Day 4 drawing to a close…

…and by almost, I mean I have to perfect the aesthetics of this dessert. It kind of looks like a mess in this photo, but that doesn’t stop it from being delicious!! I can’t tell you how excited I am that I finally can make this on a weekly basis. I’m tempted to share the recipe, but it’s my sister’s secret. ;-)

I can now scratch the first item off my of top five.

Clay Pit’s Tikka Masala!

August 2nd, 2011 § Leave a Comment

One of the items in my top five of things to make ever is Chicken Tikka Masala – particularly the one from Clay Pit, my favorite place to eat Indian food here in Austin. I didn’t think I would ever find it, and after failed attempts of using mixes, I couldn’t believe that just by googling I found the recipe! The fact that Clay Pit would even share the recipe was mind-boggling. It wasn’t 100% exactly like the restaurant’s, but it was very very close!

I made a batch with chicken (grilled via a George Foreman) and another with tofu since my husband is vegetarian, and I used non-fat dairy yogurt instead of heavy cream, as they suggested. The meal was complete with our favorite red wine. Bon appétit!
